React Right Instructor

The SSI React Right program provides students with the knowledge and training to act as a first responder and provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and/or provide Automated External Defibrillator (AED) support in the event of a medical emergency.

What Will You Learn?

Each portion of the React Right program (First Aid and CPR, Oxygen Administration and AED) may be taught individually or in any combination of the three sections.

In this program you will learn how to train students the SSI React Right Program

What Will You Do?

  • Complete the Specialty Instructor Seminar or co-teaching requirements as outlined in the instructor manual for the Specialty Instructor Seminar.
  • Complete a React Right final exam with a passing score for each of the portions of the program they are completing.
  • Active status and current first aid and CPR, O2 provider, and AED instructors with a recognized training agency may submit an application for an equivalent React Right Instructor certification.

Course Prerequisites

Minimum age:

  • 18 years old.

Have at least one (1) of the following active status SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency:

  • Assistant Instructor
  • Level 1 Lifeguard Instructor Mermaid Instructor
  • Pool Freediving Instructor Swim Teacher

Or

  • Be a current medical professional (e.g. EMT, nurse, doctor).

Equipment Requirements

React Right students must train using current and appropriate first aid and CPR, oxygen administration and AED equipment.
